Over recent years there has been an increase in the number of NZ House Value Estimate Websites popping up in New Zealand.

Below is a list of all of the online NZ house value estimate websites that we are aware of, that are currently operating in New Zealand. Such websites maybe useful for first home buyers or anyone else buying a house, to get a basic idea of house prices in their area. However any estimates these websites give should be taken with a big grain of salt, and they are certainly no substitute for a formal valuation by a proper registered valuer.  Most are automated and based on figures that they get from third parties such as council records . So most will be based on no inspection ever having taken place on the property. Most of these online tools / websites below are free, however some do charge a fee per valuation. PLease note that most of these are not Property Valuation websites, most are just for rough estimates. However some of these companies may also offer property valuations which they will usually charge for.

This has been operating for a few years. What we like about this one is how it is accessed via a map, and you can easily zoom in on a property on the map to access the data.

Quotable Value

Price: Varies, check their website

This was one of the original websites to provide automated estimates. 

OneRoof

We like that this has quite a lot of information on it.

CoreLogic

This website didn't seem to give as much information as other sites.

What we like about this one is that it has a graph showing trends over the last year. Also compares the house with other houses in the area. Also shown past sales.
