Our Easy Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream Recipe is one of the quickest ways to make Ice Cream. It uses all natural ingredients, and is soft and smooth.
This is a quick and easy Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream recipe that we have been making for years. It only takes 5 minutes to mix it up and then it is ready to be churned into fresh Vanilla ice cream. This ice cream recipe doesn't need eggs nor does it need heating and then cooling before churning. So it is very quick and easy to prepare.
Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream Ingredients:
- 2 cups of cream (500ml bottle)
- 2 cups of standard or full cream milk (500ml)
- 3/4 of a cup of brown sugar
- 3 or 4 teaspoons of natural Vanilla Essence to suit your taste
Makes approximately 1 litre of ice cream mixture.
Optional:
Vanilla bean scrapped out of a vanilla pod. (reduce the amount of vanilla essence to taste if you are also using vanilla bean)
Method:
- Measure 2 cups of milk into a large bowl.
- Add the brown sugar and vanilla essence.
- Use an egg beater to slowly mix this until all of the sugar has dissolved and there is no sugar granules left in the bottom of the bowl.
- Add the cream and slowly mix this in.
- Pour mixture into your Ice Cream Churner.
- Churn the Ice Cream mixture until it is at the desired thickness.
- Pour into a freezer safe container and put into the freezer to set.
This amount of ice cream mixture that this recipe produces is just the right amount for the Breville Smartscoop Ice Cream maker. We have just purchased one of these Smartscoop churners and they work great. However you don't need one of these to make ice cream, and we previously we had a couple of cheap ice cream churners with a freezer bowl similar to this. However with the cheap churners you do need to plan a few days ahead and remember to put the churner freezer bowl/s into the freezer for at least 24 hours. They also take up valuable freezer space. However these cheap ice cream churners can produce vanilla ice cream that is just as good as the more expensive churners that have an inbuilt freezer compartment. They just aren't as convenient.
The Ice cream scoop shown in the photos is the Alessi Koki Ice Cream Scoop, made out of 18/10 stainless steel and mirror polished. It is one of the best scoops we have used and fits the hand perfectly. It is however quite expensive and it is a piece of art, but would make a great gift. Buy the Alessi Koki Ice Cream Scoop NZ now.
Coffee Vanilla Ice Cream:
One of our favourite variations to our Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream recipe, is turning it into Coffee Vanilla Ice Cream.
If you want to make it Coffee Vanilla Ice Cream, all you need to do is add 2 tablespoons of instant coffee when making the mixture and make sure it all dissolves.
Please note that this is not a sponsored post and we purchased all products ourselves. Use this recipe at your own risk.
